New Limited Edition Print Released

LIMITED EDITION "RUN ALONG HOME" 18" x 18" GICLEE, SIGNED AND NUMBERED BY THE ARTIST.

Run Along Home (AKA: Sunflower Girl) tells the story of a staring contest between two creatures. A girl and a flower are so distracted by each other's beauty that they become unaware of the chaos surrounding them. When Clyde (a wide-eyed, myopic, cartoon slug-bunny) walks his pet sheep through the painting, the sunflower shoos him away, probably for his own good.

After a year on tour (and many inquiries about the availability of the original) this show-stopping oil painting has been stunningly reproduced with the loftiest standards in quality and an obscene attention to detail. This is not a poster. This is not an ink-jet print on paper bought at Staples. "Run Along Home" is printed on 300 lb. archival museum-grade fine art paper. This giclee is a work of art in itself. And there's only a limited number of them. No dealer has them. No other website has them. This piece comes directly from my studio in Brooklyn straight to your door. (For more information about new releases and upcoming shows please visit my site: www.rickmidler.net).

BEE WARNED at THE HIVE GALLERY

I can't think of a more fitting place to show "Bee Warned," (20"x20" oil on canvas). There are great artists coming out of the Hive. And I can't believe Alex Grey did live paintings. His stuff is so intricate and deep. Must have been a religious experience to watch him. So, I am humbled and honored that they decided to include me in their July show.

OPENING: July 3rd 8-12:30AM

729 S Spring St. Los Angeles, CA 90014

We also feature artwork from John Tebeau, visual art from Levester Williams and poetry from Ceasia King, Arianna Proehl, Andrew Folster, Andrew Jimenez and Ryan Chappell. Adenike Huggins worked with Bronx MC Mickey Factz to have him do a freestyled response to artwork from Basquiat, Kahlo, Kandinsky, Shephard Fairey and several others. Factz stated his inkblot-esque fi rst response to each piece. Our F.O.K.U.S. Cru section continues with Jamie Killen’s Brooklyn sun photos and Michael Malik Jones-Robinson’s pictures from his trip to Africa.

COSMIC CHARACTERS announced at Clover's Fine Arts, Brooklyn

OPENING RECEPTION --- MARCH 13th, 4PM - 7PM
Cosmic Characters: Featuring the artwork of Rick Midler, Jenny Ping, Alexis Trice & Win Zibeon.

A series of eyeballs bouncing down a rabbit hole. A rainstorm. A swarm of bees. Just when you think you know who you are, you're swept uncontrollably into the spiraling patterns of life. Will you reach for a thorny ladder made of vines? Can you really climb out of this dream? If it sounds mad, well, it is. We all live within our own made-up characters and live by our own man-made rules. With any luck, you'll live in a place filled with color, excitement, and not too many bees.

Cosmic Characters will be on view until April 11th, 2010.
